Acrylic Painting Weekend Workshop / Lake Chelan

Saturday & Sunday, August 7th 11-4 at the Chelan Fire Station $150

Push forward in experimental contemporary painting style with emphasis on color. We will explore color theory: pigments, mixing, and choosing color combinations for successful paintings! This is a great class for confidence, enjoying the process and creating color harmony in your paintings. Can also use oil or watercolor if you choose. Be sure to check supply list for colors to bring.

Portrait Drawing Class through ArtsNow

Six Monday evening sessions beginning April 5 through May 10 / 6:30 - 9:00 pm / $145

Instructor Tracy Fraker is offering a portrait drawing class through the extension of Edmonds Community College. If you have found portraiture too intimidating a subject, this is a great class to break through any apprehensions. We will go over proportions and alignments, but also several different approaches for you to try. The class will spend time on gesture drawing to loosen up, contour line, shading for form, and self portraiture to teach observation skills. Good for beginning artists, or even experienced artists who would like instruction in this genre:

…describes the experience of dropping in on one of four summer art workshops at the studio and home of local artist, Tracy Kay Fraker..
You may know Tracy as an instructor at Cole Gallery in Edmonds. An accomplished teacher and painter, she specializes in pushing the medium of acrylics as far as it can go - and encourages her students to break out in new directions!
This limited series of workshops will be held in a beautiful garden setting with views of Puget Sound at the top of the Edmonds "bowl."
10 am - 3:00 pm with a break for lunch on the deck
$50.00 each day.
Bring art supplies to paint and collage
As always I will have lots of tools and tidbits for you to experiment with, but be sure to bring your own supplies: Acrylic paints (including gels and mediums!), a large or multiple smaller canvas or canvas boards, even water color papers. Bring any stalled out work to forge ahead on. Any craft and collage supplies, photographs, tools to manipulate the painting process - raid your junk, sewing and utility drawers. You are welcome to watercolor if you wish. Mix media! I am available all day for instruction, demos, and encouragement. Will have project ideas to get you going or help you move ahead with your own ideas.
Lunch to share (potluck style)
Yes, you can refrigerate as needed. I will make a big vat of cold lemonade, but you are welcome to bring wine for spritzers as you like. Bring sunhat, sunblock and sunglasses! There is some covered area in case you don't want full sun. We will be outside unless it rains.

CHELAN, WASHINGTON - Main Street Gallery is pleased to spotlight Edmonds Artist, Tracy Kay Fraker at Main Street Gallery as part of the First Fridays each month in downtown Chelan. Visitors are invited to come and view the artist's work from 6-9 pm, Friday, May 2nd.
Tracy's years as a graphic artist have led her to experiment with alternative ideas and techniques. An artist her entire life and an advocate for bringing art into the classroom, Tracy worked with over 80 students last spring at Chelan Middle and High School as a guest artist sponsored by Lake Chelan Rotary. She'll bring her daughter, Bryn, and they'll work together as artists in action during 1st Friday's scheduled artwalk featuring artists throughout many of the stores on Friday evening from 6-9.
Tracy will offer an Art Class from 10-3 on Saturday, May 3rd. "Push forward in your creative approach with acrylic paints, gels and mediums". She will encourage an experimental and contemporary approach-how to combine materials to create your own personal style.
