Quadrant Interested in exploring the division of the picture plane into quadrants, or rectangular breakdowns. These are about getting the eye to follow color paths & brushwork and to create a sense of filtered light. "Fortuna" in the modular series is a literal translation of this series. In that one the idea of breaking up the picture plane is made real by using smaller canvases as segments of a larger work. See Modular Paintings.

Modular Art These paintings are designed in units of 12x12 canvas. The units assemble to create an abstracted image, but that is just a starting point. Each individual piece is a composition that is successful in any orientation. The viewer/owner is encouraged to display units in pairs, rows, together or separately. The owner of this artwork becomes part of the process. The art can evolve and change - and as more modular paintings are created they open the possibilities to merge.
